AI and Machine Learning Engineering Lead

Overview

ION Talent is building a network of AI and ML engineering leaders for clients deploying production machine learning systems, generative AI products and decision intelligence platforms. Demand is high across financial services, technology platforms, government AI initiatives and energy analytics.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams designing, training and deploying production ML and LLM systems
• Own MLOps infrastructure, model lifecycle management and observability
• Define AI engineering standards, reusable components and evaluation frameworks
• Collaborate with product, data and business teams on AI use cases
• Contribute to responsible AI governance and risk frameworks

Requirements

• 7+ years in machine learning or AI engineering, minimum 2 in a leadership role
• Strong Python, PyTorch or TensorFlow skills
• Experience deploying models at scale on cloud infrastructure
• Familiarity with LLM fine-tuning, RAG pipelines and prompt engineering
• MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics or related field preferred
